Wooden Nickels have been used by local fairs and celebrations ever since there were Wooden Nickels.
Use Wooden Nickels as advance advertising for your fair, by giving them out at other area fairs and celebrations.

Create a Commemorative Wooden Nickel as a souvenir of the fair or other event. The Wooden Nickel size usually sells for about 25¢ or 50¢ each. The larger Wooden Dollar usually sells for $1.00.

Use Wooden Nickels as entry tickets to the fair. You can sell these in advance, through local businesses and organizations (Scouts, Churches, Youth Groups, Civic Organizations, etc.)

Make the Wooden Nickels valid for use in downtown stores during the festival days. Each participating store can have some made with their own advertising. Make the face value 5¢ or more toward a purchase, or 5% off, or some other "coupon type" deal.

Make a set of three, in three different colors, with the face value of 25¢ (Wooden Quarter), 50¢ (Wooden Half-Dollar), & $1.00 (Wooden Dollar). Use these as the "money" for concession booths, rides, and amusements. Visitors, tourists, & collectors will want to keep a complete set as a souvenir of the event. In future years you can sell any remaining "older" coins to those who want to keep up a complete collection, and missed a year or two.
